Roof Repair

For a specific problem on a roof that's otherwise in good shape.

You probably need this if
You have a leak or a stain on the ceiling, missing or lifted shingles after a storm, or damage in one area of the roof.
What happens
We find where the water is actually getting in — which is often not where the stain is — fix that section, and check the areas around it so the same leak doesn't come back somewhere else.
Roofing

Full Roof Replacement

For a roof at the end of its life, or one with damage in too many places to patch.

You probably need this if
Your roof is 20+ years old, you're patching leaks repeatedly, shingles are curling or losing their granules, or the roof is sagging.
What happens
The existing roof is removed so the wood decking beneath can be fully inspected and any damaged areas addressed. Ice and water shield is then installed at valleys and other vulnerable areas where needed, followed by roofing felt or underlayment. Your selected shingles or roofing material are installed next, with new flashing completed at chimneys, skylights, walls, and other transitions. We finish with a thorough cleanup of the jobsite.

Chimney & Masonry

Before and after chimney masonry repair, showing a cracked crown replaced with a clean rebuilt crown BeforeAfter

Crumbling mortar and cracked crowns let water run straight down inside the chimney. We rebuild and reseal the masonry so it sheds water again.

Flashing

Side-view before and after of a brick chimney, showing rusted damaged flashing replaced with copper step flashing tucked beneath shingles BeforeAfter

Flashing is the metal that seals the seams where your roof meets a chimney, wall, or window. It's where most leaks actually start — and it's the part we specialize in.

  • Chimney flashing
  • Skylight flashing
  • Window flashing
  • Wall joint & step flashing

Skylights

Before and after skylight replacement, showing an old weathered skylight replaced with a new skylight BeforeAfter

New skylights installed, and leaking ones resealed or replaced. A skylight only stays dry if the metal around it is done right, so we handle both together.

  • New installation
  • Replacement & resealing

Gutters

Before and after copper gutter installation, showing naturally aged brown copper replaced with polished new copper gutters BeforeAfter

Gutters carry water away from your foundation. If they're clogged, sagging, or the wrong size, that water ends up in your basement instead.

  • Installation & replacement
  • Repairs & resecuring
  • Cleaning & guards

Power Washing

Before and after power washing, showing a lightly weathered patio refreshed to clean natural stone BeforeAfter

Removes the green and black buildup from siding, walkways, and decks. We match the pressure to the surface so nothing gets damaged in the process.

  • Siding & exterior panels
  • Roof & gutter washing
  • Decks, walkways & driveways

If it's on the outside of the house, Precision can handle it — ask about anything you don't see listed.

Roof Leak Advice

Most roof leaks start at a detail—not in the middle of the roof.

A ceiling stain is often only where water finally appears. The source may be higher up at a chimney, skylight, wall joint, valley, or roof edge.

Full roof replacement & concealed copper flashing

Stamford, Connecticut

A complete roof replacement combining a layered waterproofing system with the clean, concealed copper chimney detail requested by the client.

  1. The existing roof was removed to expose the roof deck and prepare the surface for a complete rebuild.
  2. Ice-and-water shield was installed along the base of the roof, where ice backup is most likely, followed by felt paper to continue the waterproofing system across the roof.
  3. New shingles were installed up to the ridge line. Custom copper flashing was then integrated behind the stucco, keeping the step-flashing detail concealed for the clean finished appearance the client preferred.

  2. Waterproof underlayment was installed across the roof, with reinforced protection at the eaves and other vulnerable transitions to help guard against wind-driven rain and ice backup.
  3. New shingles were installed with drip-edge metal integrated at the gutter line and along the roof edges, directing runoff into the gutters and protecting the side edges of the home.

  2. New copper gutters and downspouts were placed at the locations selected by the client, then aligned for controlled drainage.

Chimney cricket & custom copper rebuild

New Rochelle, New York

A complete chimney-side roof rebuild designed to replace compromised materials and create a positive drainage path around the chimney.

  1. The existing roof area was opened, deteriorated wood decking was removed, and new decking was installed to provide a solid substrate for the rebuild.
  2. Ice-and-water protection was installed across the entire rebuilt area and integrated with the surrounding roof system for continuous waterproofing.
  3. Custom copper flashing and a new chimney cricket were fabricated and installed. The original design had no cricket; the new copper cricket redirects water away from the chimney instead of allowing it to collect against it.

Cos Cob, Connecticut

A full cedar renewal that brings a weathered shake roof back toward its warm, natural character while protecting the surrounding details.

  1. The roof was inspected first; any damaged shakes and flashing details needing repair were identified before cleaning began.
  2. Power washing removed the gray surface weathering and organic buildup. During the wet stage, the natural green mildew tone can be visible—the same appearance homeowners often notice after rain.
  3. After two to three dry-weather days, a clear oil-based natural shake sealer was applied to revive the golden cedar tone and leave a protected, naturally enriched finish.
